The UNHCR Representation in Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Council on Refugees and Migrants, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science organized a seminar on “Educational Integration of Refugee Children in Bulgaria”, which was held on 21 April 2015 at the Centre for Preparation of Students for Competitions, 21 A, Dragan Tzankov Blvd., Sofia. – The Bulgarian Council on Refugees and Migrants

The aim of the seminar was to discuss the achievements and challenges related to the educational integration of refugee children in Bulgaria in accordance with the international commitments and responsibilities of the country as a Member State of the European Union. The seminar provided a forum for the participants to share opportunities and measures to improve the integration of refugee children in the Bulgarian education system.

Textbooks, aids, programs and tests for training refugee children, developed under UNHCR and the European Integration Fund Projects were presented at the meeting.

Invitations for participation were extended to principals and teachers from 10 secondary schools in and outside Sofia, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Regional Inspectorate in Sofia and NGOs.
