The Bulgarian Council on Refugees and Migrants is the National Partner for the project. Partners for the project are organisations from Turkey, Greece, Italy, Slovenia and Portugal. The leading partner is the Amber Initiatives from Great Britain.
The overall aim and specific objectives of the project:
- Increase participant’s confidence and ability in developing approach and strategy to provide targeted support for refugees and their social inclusion
- Increase awareness about issues within local refugee communities
- Increase understanding of violent radicalization and causes of extremism
- Explore the meaning of prejudice and discrimination in broader terms and develop techniques in anti-discriminatory practice.
- Increase capacity to operate at an international level
- Study visit: Social Integration of Refugees 3-10 December 2019, Plymouth UK
The eight days study visits with some elements of training addresses the needs of the European organizations to increase their role in extremism and violence prevention and equip them with skills and knowledge to do so. As a result of the project the organizations involved are able to address the needs of refugees better, facilitate their integration into local community and, therefore, reduce the risk of radicalization. The project is in line with the EU strategy to enhance the integration of non-EU nationals.
The project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission.
