The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Bulgaria, The State Agency for Child Protection and the Bulgarian Council on Refugees and Migrants organized a round table on “Advocacy for the Protection and Integration of Unaccompanied Refugee Children in Bulgaria”, held on 6-7 November 2014 at Rila Hotel, Borovets.
The aim of the round table was to analyze the legal framework, the social policy and practice for the protection and integration of unaccompanied refugee children and discuss opportunities for cooperation and partnership.
The round table was attended by experts from the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Interior, the State Agency for Refugees, the State Agency for Child Protection, as well as from international, nongovernmental and refugee organizations.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Council on Refugees and Migrants are organizing an advocacy meeting on Social Protection and Integration of Vulnerable Asylum Seekers and Refugees, which will be held on 17 and 18 September 2014 in Rila Hotel, Borovets.
The aim is to analyze the legal framework, the social policy and practice to support the protection and integration of vulnerable refugees and asylum seekers and to discuss the opportunities for cooperation and partnership.
Invitations for participation shall be extended to experts from the State Agency for Refugees with the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the State Agency for Child Protection, The Agency for Social Assistance, the Agency for Persons with Disabilities, Sofia Municipality, as well as NGOs and refugee organizations.

The Asylum Granting Commission to the Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Council on Refugees and Migrants are organizing a conference on Partnership for the Protection of Refugee Children in Bulgaria, which will be held under the patronage of the Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria.
The aim of the conference is to discuss the achievements and the challenges of the policy and practice for the protection of refugee children in accordance with international commitments and responsibilities of the country as a member of the European Union. Among the most important issues is the partnership between government institutions, local authorities and civil society to strengthen the protection of refugee children.
Invitations will be extended to representatives of relevant government institutions, international organizations, local authorities, NGOs and refugee organizations working with refugee children in Bulgaria.
The conference will be held on 20 June 2014 (Friday) from 9.15 h at the premises of the Presidency, 2, Dondoukov Blvd.

The Representation of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Bulgarian Council on Refugees and Migrants are organizing a seminar on the role of higher education to prepare teachers in Bulgarian as a foreign language in the context of the integration of refugee children in Bulgaria.
The seminar will be held on 28-29 May 2014 in Rila Hotel, Borovets.
Invitations for participation have been extended to experts from the State Agency for Refugees with the Council of Ministers, higher institutes and NGOs.
Lectures on the topic will be delivered by Professors from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science.
